Might work for small libraries but mine is 60,000+ and had 4000+ dups. On yosemite, super slow, and thinks that iPhoto is busy when doing nothing. Delete per picture takes 5 seconds. Had to scan 3 times before it started deleting. Then app opened up and said database changed when I did nothing. And it takes like 10 hours to scan the whole database…again.

Would be great if it actually worked. Faster to search manually and delete duplicate events. Even with 4000. Looking for alternative or waiting for a patch. Sounds like someone else had the same issue.
